This workshop will focus on developing rich textured surfaces, building up one layer at a time. Lesley will lead you through her current process of painting coloured slips of varying thicknesses onto a clay surface. Incorporating underglazes, ceramic chalks and stencils she will demonstrate her mono print techniques, painting the ceramic pigments onto paper and transferring the results back onto the clay surface.

This demonstration offers endless possibilities for pattern and textural variation which can easily be adapted and used for both functional and sculptural ceramicists.
